Apple TV Orders 'The New Look' Series on Christian Dior and Coco Chanel

A story of how Dior dethroned Chanel as the world’s top designer.

Apple TV is set to produce a new series following the lives of legendary designers Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.

Titled The New Look, the upcoming show will cover the story of how Dior overtook Chanel as the top fashion designer in the world. As explained in a press release, the show, inspired by true events, “centers on the pivotal moment in the 20th century when Paris led the world back to life through its fashion icons.” It will also feature the stories of other iconic designers such as Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin and Yves Saint Laurent.

Ben Mendelsohn will play the role of Christian Dior, while Juliette Binoche has been cast to play Coco Chanel. A release date has yet to be announced, but stay tuned as we learn more about The New Look. The show will be filmed exclusively in Paris.
