'Bridgerton' Season 2 Trailer Teases a Love Triangle With Sisters
Introducing Kate and Edwina Sharma.
The second season of Bridgerton is releasing March 25 and from the looks of the newest trailer, the drama is endless. Season 1 left off with a major plot twist, revealing Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) as Lady Whistledown. And after falling in love with the show, fans questioned whether it would be any good without their favorite character, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). Luckily for them, there’s a new storyline to commit to.
Season 2 introduces two new sisters, Kate (Simone Ashely) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), who have come to town on a search to find younger sister Edwina a husband. Kate is an opinionated and overprotective older sister, while Edwina trusts her every move.
On the other side of town, the Viscount (Jonathan Bailey), known for his appreciation of emotionless sex with sex workers, is ready to find his wife — so his mother screams loudly at the town ball. From the trailer, it seems like he begins to fancy Edwina but still struggles with the concept of love.
The trailer shows very few appearances of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), who played the Duke’s wife in Season 1. However, in one scene she asks her brother, the Viscount, “What happens when duty is in conflict with the heart’s true desire?” The camera then pans to a scene of the Viscount speaking with Edwina, but losing his focus and admiring Kate from across the room.
The trailer only teases the chaos, but it seems like not only does the Viscount catch feelings for Kate, but she catches feelings for him too. Preview the upcoming season below.
