Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo Recreate Iconic '13 Going on 30' Scenes for 'The Adam Project'
It’s like Jenna and Matty with a son 18 years later.
Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo are reunited, and it feels so good. For promo of their upcoming film, The Adam Project, the actors channeled their inner Jenna and Matty from their classic movie 13 Going on 30.
For starters, they recreated the final scene from the 2004 rom-com where Jenna and Matty sit on the couch outside their new home after her wish came true. Secondly, the actors snacked on some Razzles as their characters did in the scene before their first kiss.
“Can you believe that it’s been 18 years since 13 Going on 30? Which is about how old these Razzles are,” Garner said. “Both a candy,” she noted, before Ruffalo joined her. “And a gum. Cheers.”
Ruffalo continued, “It’s sort of like Jenna and Matty got together so they can become parents in The Adam Project.” The pair were then joined by Walker Scobell, who plays their child in their forthcoming film.
It turns out, 13 Going on 30 and The Adam Project have something in common: Time travel. In 13 Going on 30, Jenna skips her formative years and goes straight to age 30. Meanwhile, in The Adam Project, a time-traveling pilot, played by Ryan Reynolds, accidentally crash lands in 2022 from the future and teams up with his 12-year-old self, played by Scobell.
Watch Garner and Ruffalo pay tribute to 13 Going on 30 in the video below. The Adam Project premieres on Netflix on March 11.
