Balmain's Olivier Rousteing Is the Next Designer To Take Over Jean Paul Gaultier Couture
Following Chitose Abe and Glenn Martens.
Following sacai’s Chitose Abe and Y/Project’s Glenn Martens, Olivier Rousteing of Balmain is the third guest designer to take over Jean Paul Gaultier Couture.
Since his final show in January 2020, JPG has been showcasing Couture collections under a new model, inviting new creatives every season to present their unique take on the fashion house. Abe paid homage to “Enfant Terribles” for her collection, while Martens focused on trompe l’oeil for the Spring/Summer 2022 season. Representatives of both JPG and Balmain have yet to comment on the collaboration, but sources close to the brands have confirmed that Rousteing will be joining for the third season, Vogue Business reports. Gaultier was one of many guests to attend the recent Balmain show at Paris Fashion Week, showing support for the designer’s latest collection.
Stay tuned as we learn more about Rousteing’s upcoming Couture range for Jean Paul Gaultier. Paris Couture Week is scheduled to take place from July 3 to 7.
