Obi-Wan Kenobi Returns to His Jedi Roots in Upcoming 'Star Wars' Miniseries
Set a decade after ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.’
Disney+ has released the official trailer for its Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries. The spin-off sees Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan alongside Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader.
The show is set a decade after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (Episode III), where the Jedi master “faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader,” as per the streaming service’s description. “The fight is done,” Obi-Wan says in a voice-over. “We lost. Stay hidden,” he continues as the visual reveals a snippet of him spotting young Luke Skywalker from a distance on the planet Tatooine.
Directed by Deborah Chow, the upcoming series follows The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, which were all produced by Lucasfilm. Kumail Nanjiani, Bennie Safdie, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Sung Kang will also star in the show.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ on May 25. Watch the full trailer above.
