See the Beauty Looks in Di Petsa's FW22 "Mother Persephone" Presentation
Accompanying the looks inspired by Greek mythology.
Designer Di Petsa pays homage to her Greek roots with her “Mother Persephone” collection for Fall/Winter 2022. The collection is based on a Greek myth of mother and daughter Demeter and Persephone, and their relationship.
The inspiration behind the makeup looks was all centered around the storytelling for the collection and staying true to the Di Petsa heritage. Crafted by makeup artist Crystabel Riley, shades of gold were the focal point and creative direction for the models. Gold sprays were applied in different ways with abstract finishes, which is a nod to how the seasons are in constant change.
“Over several years now, I have been exclusively working with sustainable focused brands as well as working backstage with a low waste approach and developing a show team to execute this in a way that makes the models feel really cared for,” Riley said in a press release. “We worked with a ritualistic approach to the skincare with lymphatic massage, hot cloths, and fresh infusions. It was amazing to work with Typology Paris for this show, and they do a beautiful cleansing block which is the best of its kind, totally plastic-free and using ingredients like organic nettle powder which re-balances the skin.” She continued: “I feel like nettle is an amazingly sustainable and magical ingredient that is sort of ancient and forgotten, but it’s this type of hidden ways of healing that we need to resurrect to have a less planetary impact.”
