Hoyeon Jung, Phoebe Dynevor and More Stun in Archival Louis Vuitton Fits for 2022 Met Gala
“Creations should be made to last,” says Nicolas Ghesquière.
For the 2022 Met Gala, Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections, decided to dress a lineup of stars in the house’s archive or previously worn pieces.
“Never has it been more important to show that creations should be made to last,” Ghesquière told Vogue. Among the celebrities styled by the brand were Emma Stone, Hoyeon Jung, Gemma Chan, Cynthia Erivo, Phoebe Dynevor, Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas and more. Stone donned a feathered white dress with a plunging neckline, which she wore at her wedding reception in 2010. Meanwhile, the Squid Game actor stunned in a strapless cut-out dress from the label’s 2017 Cruise collection. As for the Crazy Rich Asians and Eternals star, she was chosen to showcase the Spring/Summer 2022 Ellipse dress and a cape from the 2020 Cruise line.
“There is no better feeling than to know your designs will live on,” Ghesquière added. “While my role as an artistic director is to constantly create, the chance to return to previous collections and designs for this year’s Met Gala was joyful.”
