Tommy Hilfiger Launches Circular Fashion Resale Program

Swap your old clothes for Tommy Hilfiger shopping credit.

In partnership with online thrifting service ThredUp, fashion label Tommy Hilfiger is launching its own resale program, designed to encourage its shoppers to give their products a second life.

Through ThredUp’s Resale-as-a-Service project, the partnership will allow consumers to ship their unwanted items in exchange for Tommy Hilfiger shopping credit. A majority of brands will be accepted, however, it’s likely that only 50% of items will qualify for resale. According to ThredUp’s website, low-value brands aren’t as likely to receive a sizeable payout because “their processing costs are higher than their resale value.” Items must also be sent without stains or damages to qualify for the service.

To use the service, consumers need to use a prepaid shipping label (downloadable from the Tommy Hilfiger website) and ship their items directly to ThredUp. If their items aren’t resold within a 30-day window, users can request their items be returned to them or recycled by the brand.

According to ThredUp’s CEO James Reinhart, Tommy Hilfiger’s dedication to creating quality clothing further cements its circular fashion potential, adding that “The brand’s products are made to withstand the test of time both with classic designs and durable quality, making resale a natural fit for the company.”

News of Tommy Hilfiger’s ThredUp partnership comes shortly after the clothing brand collaborated with fashion rental service Rotaro for a capsule collection of archive pieces for rent.

Head to Tommy Hilfiger’s ThredUp microsite for details on how to download your shipping label.
