JW Anderson Confirms LFW Show Will Be "More Intimate and Private Than Ever"
One of the few designers to confirm their show will still be going ahead.
Following the news that Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, the fashion industry has been working behind the scenes to reschedule, cancel or continue preparations for the upcoming London Fashion Week showcase, set to commence on September 15.
While the likes of Raf Simons and Burberry have made the executive decisions to cancel their shows out of respect for the late monarch, a number of designers are instead rescheduling or continuing on with their showcases. Most recently, JW Anderson confirmed that the SS23 showcase would still take place on its scheduled date.
“Out of respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our show will be more intimate and private than ever before, presented to a small group of press, buyers, friends and family,” the brand’s official statement read. “Now we must stand together and continue to create the incredible stories that this city is known for.”
The British Fashion Council has yet to confirm which shows will still be either going ahead or rescheduled, but stay tuned for further updates.
