Louise Trotter Departs Lacoste After 4 Years as Creative Director
The designer showcased her last runway in September 2021.
Louise Trotter, who joined Lacoste in 2018 as the brand’s creative director, has now parted ways with the French fashion label.
Making her debut for Lacoste in February 2019 during Paris Fashion Week, Trotter became the first woman to helm the then-85-year-old brand, succeeding Felipe Oliviera Baptista. Throughout her tenure, the creative presented everything from minimalist garments to René Lacoste-inspired collections celebrating the heritage and tennis-focused DNA of the company.
“I feel the most honored to have served the legacy of Rene Lacoste, whose sporting values I will carry with me. I am very happy to have joined this unique brand that perfectly combines heritage and avant-gardism,” Trotter shared in a statement, as reported by WWD. Lacoste’s president Thierry Guibert additionally shared his appreciation for the designer’s “creativity and commitment and for her contribution to the brand’s legacy.”
Trotter’s last runway show was back in September 2021 for the Spring/Summer 2022 season, and Lacoste has yet to present a runway presentation since. After that, the now-former creative director showcased collections at Paris Fashion Week through intimate presentations.
It is currently unknown where Trotter is headed after her time at Lacoste.
