A Makeup Artist Shares the Celebrity Lip Liner Hack for a Red Carpet Pout

Social media is full of lip liner trends, tricks and hacks to make your pout appear fuller. From the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Lopez, their duck lips are highly sought after. This look is all thanks to celebrity makeup artist to the stars Mary Phillips — and we’ve uncovered her secret to achieving the look.
As we know, Philips is one of the masterminds behind all of our fav celeb glam looks and we’re all curious as to how she makes the magic come together. Makeup goddess Rose Siard took to Instagram to share the tea on her findings while trying it on herself. She starts the clip off by exclaiming, “Mary Phillips can do no wrong. She does a lip technique and I want to see what it looks like in natural lighting.” After going through a few photos of Phillips’s work, she explains that lip contouring is the name of the game for that A-list pout.
Instead of using a lip liner, Siard opts for a contour stick Westman Atelier to initially line the lips. Next, she goes in with a Makeup Forever lip pencil blending in and shaping up the outer edges. She then finishes the look with pinky nude lipstick in the center of the lips and lip gloss from Anastasia Beverly Hills and brushes out the edges for a blurred and perfected look.
