Vanessa Hudgens Reacts to Ex Austin Butler's Elvis Presley Accent
And the joke involves Lady Gaga.
While the world has been raving about Austin Butler‘s portrayal of Elvis Presley for the biopic Elvis, Vanessa Hudgens has kept her thoughts to herself — until now. The High School Musical alum, who dated Butler from 2011 to 2020, responded to a joke made about his Presley accent.
It all started when social media user @ryinskott shared a screenshot of an article from Page Six with the following headline: “Austin Butler’s ‘Elvis’ accent is ‘genuine,’ might remain forever: voice coach.” Scott then captioned the screenshot, adding, “He went to the Lady Gaga school of Oscar campaign acting.” Hudgens then commented, “Crying,” implying she’s hysterically laughing.
Butler and Hudgens recently made headlines after he recalled a story from a few years ago about a “friend” who told him he should at some point play Elvis Presley. Fans were quick to realize the “friend” he was referring to was actually Hudgens, which upset many because of the fact he couldn’t simply give her the credit and just mention her name.
