Loewe's Viral Grass Sneakers Have Arrived

No, they aren’t made of real grass like the ones on the runway.

Remember the Loewe menswear collection that featured actual grass on its garments and shoes? The sneakers from the Spring/Summer 2023 runway have officially arrived at the label’s stores, signaling the start of a warm and grassy spring season.

Those who watched the presentation will remember that the grass on the designs was real, created in partnership with the artist Paula Ulargui Escalona who planted seeds onto 42 pairs of shoes in anticipation of the show. For obvious reasons, the sneakers hitting shelves do not come with actual grass, but the look is replicated using hand-embroidered raffia all over.

As explained in the product description, the shoe comes with a soft canvas upper while rubber soles add a touch of contrast to the design. The look is complete with Loewe’s signature branding on the footbed as well as the heel in gold. The tongue is highlighted with the Anagram logo.

Would you add this pair of sneakers to your lineup? They are now available online and in Loewe stores for $1,700 USD.
