Moncler's "Art of Genius" Showcase Was the Star of London Fashion Week
Debuting partnerships with Palm Angels, Rick Owens, Salehe Bembury, Pharrell, Mercedes Benz and more.
Moncler announced its “Art of Genius” showcase mere days before London Fashion Week, and honestly — no one knew quite what to expect. Open to 10,000 members of the public, the event promised appearances from the likes of Alicia Keys and Pharrell Williams, and it delivered.
Showcasing nine partnerships across its co-creation platform, “Art of Genius” featured experiential installations from Palm Angels, Mercedes-Benz, FRGMT, Salehe Bembury, adidas Originals, Roc Nation by Jay-Z and Rick Owens. Kicking things off was Pharrell, whose “Art of Terrain” experience allowed visitors to enter a glamping-inspired wonderland, showcasing functional pieces from their collection.
Next, Mercedes-Benz presented “The Art of Imagination,” an immersive artwork featuring dancers in a low-gravity chamber, drawing inspiration from Moncler’s signature puffer jacket and Mercedes-Benz off-roader G-Class model. Elsewhere, Palm Angels tapped London’s Boiler Room for “The Art of Lightness,” a foam and sound installation which allowed visitors to experience a snow-like wonderland.
Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s FRGMT made an appearance, too, staging a “robotic peepshow” which aimed to emulate human interactions of warmth and emotional connections. Later, adidas Originals hosted an LED-glacier runway, followed by Salehe Bembury’s spinning rock room and Rick Owens’ sound-proofed sleep pod.
Ending the night, Alicia Keys performed a stellar rendition of her biggest hits, followed by a performance with Little Simz and Cleo Sol.
