Why Did Selena Gomez Slather Her Face With Foundation for TikTok?

Listen, inflation is high, so the price of our favorite makeup products has become even higher. I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but the costs of certain foundations, mascaras and lipsticks have quietly increased — which means we all need to “preserve the serve.” However, Selena Gomez has taken a note out of TikToker Meredith Duxbury‘s book with excessive foundation application and let’s just say we don’t need that from her.
Gomez takes to TikTok saying, “I never talk, but I’m going to try my dear love Meredith’s technique,” all while holding her Rare Beauty “Positive Light” Tinted Moisturizer product. For those who aren’t aware, Meredith Duxbury is a beauty creator who went viral on TikTok for rubbing excessive amounts of liquid foundation onto her face. That’s it. That’s the technique. In the clips, Gomez pours more than a quarter-size amount of the liquid onto the back of her hand before adding even more. Before rubbing the product all over her face, she admits that it’s disastrous and that the tinted moisturizer doesn’t seem to be her shade.”
Even though the tinted moisturizer is a shade or two lighter than her complexion, she doesn’t look bad and is surprised that she has a radiant glow. That being said, Gomez continues to add even more product and at this point of watching the clips, I’m cringing because I can only imagine how icky her hands may have felt and slippery the process must’ve been. In the end, the star isn’t disappointed with how her face looks but still feels as if she didn’t do it right.
We love Selena Gomez but that amount of unnecessary product to the face wasn’t kosher. But our girl had a gorgeous glow and was happy with the result; ultimately, that’s all that matters.
