Ed Sheeran Releases Emotional Trailer for Upcoming 4-Part Docuseries 'The Sum of It All'
Premiering ahead of his upcoming sixth studio album, ‘-’ (Subtract).
Ed Sheeran is giving fans an intimate look of his life in his upcoming four-part Disney+ docuseries, The Sum of It All.
“I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,” Sheeran said in a statement. “Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it.”
According to the trailer, the docuseries will focus on Sheeran’s rise to stardom, his career and a few personal struggles, such as the loss of his friend Jamal Edwards, who the musician credits as being the first person to see something special in his music.
“The loss, it just took over my life,” Sheeran said in the trailer about his late friend. At the time of Edwards’ death, Sheeran’s wife Cherry Seaborn, who was pregnant with their second child, had just learned she had a tumor that couldn’t be treated until after giving birth.
The Sum of It All premieres on Disney+ on May 3 and his sixth studio album - (Subtract), drops on May 5. Watch the trailer for the four-part docuseries above.
