Zoë Kravitz Wears Pain Well With Cornrow Braided Ballet Bun
Beauty is pain and she’s owning it.
We’ve said it before, Paris Fashion Week is where the girlies come out to play. Up next serving major hair inspiration is the Saint Laurent girl herself, Miss Zoë Kravitz. Her makeup was trés chic, giving glowy, second skin, eagle-esque cheekbones and her hair? A daring cornrowed under-bun hairstyle.
Adwoa Aboah and Kravitz are two Black women that took natural, protective styles to the high fashion level for the Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2023 presentation. For Kravitz, her hair look consisted of straight back, cornrow braids with a twisted low ballet bun at the nape of her neck. Upon first glance, I felt sorry for her edges as the straight backs seemed to be extremely tight. But for hair enthusiasts, we know beauty is pain. (At least that’s what “they” tell us.) Bringing out the sophistication of the style even more, the star opted for an intentionally blotted red lip that contrasted perfectly against her all-black ensemble.
Kravitz is giving “balletcore,” but make it for Black women, and I love to see it. Take a closer look ahead.
