ICYMI: Porn Hit the Runway at Milan Fashion Week
This season, Dean and Dan Caten turn the runway into a porn set.
Porn on the runway is no surprise as its risqué energy is often tapped for the fashion week experience. This season at Milan Fashion Week, DSquared2 designer’s Dean and Dan Caten shifted the conversation of porn on the runway via a new lens.
Tapping the early 70s porno aesthetic, the show opens with a vignette of sexual pleasure — attuned to Cheryl Lynn’s “Star Love.” The opening scene is the raunchiest porn compilation doubling as a highlight reel of Italian pornstar Rocco Siffredi’s best scenes and other NSFW moments.
As “Star Love’s” iconic transition ensues, DSquared2 transitions into another element that steals the show: Siffredi shooting a literal porno behind an antique screen — as models walk the runway. However, the naughty bits are barely hidden behind the screen, and attendees are able to witness former dominatrix turned model and writer, Julia Fox in a moment of pleasure. She later walks the runway, as well.
On the fashion front, the collection was created by the house’s designers Dean and Caten, with a few pieces co-designed by Siffredi. Remaining true to the designers naughty roots, this season’s pieces are “steamy,” Caten and Dean shared. “Sexual versus proper. WASP-y country club versus raunchy. Privileged upper crust trying out adult entertainment. Elites meet snob. Snob meets knob.”
To close the show, Siffredi walks the runway in his relatively tame blazer and undresses down to his T-shirt which reads: V.I.P. — Very Important Penis.
