Will Ryan Gosling’s "Barbiecore" Necklace Spark a New Couple’s Trend?
The TikTok girlies are going crazy over this discovery so we’re predicting — yes.
Actor Ryan Gosling, playing Ken, dons an adorable Barbiecore necklace at the Barbie movie world premiere.
Gosling’s method acting for the new Barbie film has kept viewers beyond intrigued as the premiere date approaches. In each movie trailer, Ken (played by Gosling), displays a true subservience to anything Barbie desires. But in his real life, Gosling has a lover that rarely makes the red — excuse us, pink — carpet alongside him. But a new discovery deepens the audience’s love for Ken and hints at a potential trend.
On the pink carpet, Gosling arrives in an all-pink and salmon suit, with the top buttons remaining undone. One close look reveals the Barbie ”B” insignia, this time with an “E” for his wife Eva Mendes. PDA, also known as public displays of affection, has long been considered cringey — cue the public’s disdain for Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker. Just last year, however, PDA manicures were all the hype. Now, it appears the trend may be booted by Barbiecore.

Considering the allure of young love, unadulterated by the qualms real world, tapping Barbiecore to express your love is not too far off. Barbie, despite not yet releasing, has already reawakened the youthful wonder of many, as seen through the praise for Ken (played by Gosling). Paired with the general public’s love of hard, or soft, launching their lover, it makes sense that the two would eventually merge.
Despite keeping their relationship private, the celebrity couple has been together for over a decade now with Mendes confirming their marriage in 2022. However, they notoriously do not do red carpets together or open their relationship to the public as Mendes prefers to keep their relationship “mysterious,” making Gosling’s pink-carpet tribute all the more special.
