Thom Browne Turns Montauck Into 'Moonrise Kingdom' for Fall 2023

Visiting the “End of the World.”

Thom Browne is bringing his exciting yet classic Americana sensibility to the “End of the World” — a.k.a Montauk, New York — for the brand’s Fall 2023 campaign.

Shot by Emma Louise Swanson under Browne’s creative direction, the nautical landscape evokes a familiar Wes Anderson aesthetic with a glamorous twist, thanks to the brand’s thoughtfully designed garments. Inspired by its environment, references to the East Coast haven appear throughout the collection as a Pebble Grain Whale Baguette and cuddly Hector Bag, while sailboats decorate preppy loafers, adding a touch of levity to the seriously structured clothing. Checked Prince of Wales suiting dominates the collection, instantly commanding attention and respect.

Elsewhere, the regal print also appears in the form of wool headscarves, alongside solid iterations, offering a refined yet statement-making accessory. Melton outerwear and spacious flannel down overcoats deliver practical layers, weathering the sandy beaches without losing their composure. The Mr. Thom Bag and Mrs. Thom Mini Baguette also make waves in navy and cognac, rounding out the collection.

The collection made its initial debut during New York Fashion Week in February, commemorating Browne’s return to the American runway season for the first time since September 2021.
