Rick Owens has once again partnered with Converse and DRKSHDW to introduce the Converse x DRKSHDW DBL DRKSTAR Chuck 70, a reinterpretation of their iconic silhouette featuring a chunky double-stacked sole.
The collaboration exemplifies the daring design and continuous experimentation that characterizes their ongoing partnership. The DBL DRKSTAR’s unconventional design distorts proportions with its elongated tongue and raised platform, while retaining iconic Chuck elements in the toe, heel and foxing tape.
The clean lines and neutral color palette stay true to Rick Owens’ minimalist and contemporary aesthetic, emphasizing the dramatic shape. In a collaborative effort to promote sustainability, Converse and DRKSHDW have implemented Converse’s “Max Grind” process, which incorporates up to 40% reclaimed rubber scraps from Converse’s footwear manufacturing process back into the outsole.
The Converse x DRKSHDW DBL DRKSTAR Chuck 70 is available in black Chuck 70 for $180 USD and natural ivory Chuck 70 Ox variations for $175 USD, accessible on Converse and Rick Owens’ websites, as well as select retailers.
