Balmain FW24 Celebrates Bordeaux's Bounty

In its PFW showcase infused with glistening grapes, nuts and escargot.

Balmain‘s Fall/Winter 2024 Paris Fashion Week showcase was an ode to Bordeaux, Olivier Rousteing‘s hometown. Featuring the bounty of the city as materialized embellishments, the garments glistened with fruits and nuts as structured silhouettes and bold proportions took center stage.

Read our review of Balmain’s PFW showcase below and while you’re here check out the must-see moments from Acne Studios FW24.

Where: Held in the prestigious Parisian venue Le Pavillon Cambon, the environment comprised of green marble pillars, tall cream currents and gold accents.

Who: The showcase was attended by the brand’s collaborator Cher alongside Serena Williams, Ashley Park and more. The casting was incredibly age inclusive this season, positioning Balmain with the utmost sophistication and glamor.

See: The label’s FW24 collection focused on sculpture from gold plated bras to cone-shaped chest detailing. Two stand out pieces were a painted petal shirt that showcased hands holding a bouquet of flowers and a snail-shell golden metal breastplate. Monotone two-piece sets were paired with jet black turtle necks while soft leather dresses came with attached hoods.

Hear: An angelic, opera-like chorus rang through the venue as models sashayed down the runway. It was loud, uplifting and a soundtrack crafted to make you lean in and drop your jaw.

Touch: From intricate beadwork to sculptural embellishments, each garment was crafted to celebrate the legacy of  Parisian haute couture. The artistry in the collection’s accessories left us awestruck, including gold snail bags, large gold buttons and red mesh totes.

Taste: Taking our “taste” category to a literal level, Balmain infused nuts, escargot, strawberries and grapes into its FW24 collection. From skirts to trench coats, each garment was paired with luxury accents that made you feel beautifully lost on a summer holiday.
