For many of us, trying out a new fashion trend feels easy enough in principle, but in practice, it’s a lot harder than it seems. Whether it’s pieces of clothing you already own or something that requires a little DIY and creativity, it’s hard to know where to begin — unless you have the right inspiration, of course.
This Fall/Winter 2024 season, we’re seeing skirts over trousers continue to dominate our Instagram feeds and TikTok For You Pages, worn in a multitude of ways by our favorite fashion it-girls. As with any fashion trend, it’s entirely up to you how you’d like to wear it, but if recreating something you’ve already seen is your preferred method — we’ve got you covered.
Typically, the skirts styled are pleated or asymmetrical in shape, but can also take on more fluid sheer and lace forms. Usually, the skirts aren’t form-fitting, but rather follow an A-line or voluminous silhouette in order to allow for a baggy underlayer of jeans, cargo pants or lace trousers. Accessorizing always helps to elevate a look, and our community favors embellished belts, chains and plenty of jewelry.
