These Are the Coolest Scandi Brands to Know From Copenhagen Fashion Week

From THE GARMENT and Filippa K to Stine Goya and Samsoe Samsoe, here’s who you need to get on your radar.

Scandi fashion is effortlessly cool — that’s a fact. As a result, every season, Copenhagen Fashion Week appears to get a little bit bigger, and the demand for Danish brands continues to grow. The reasons for its rise are likely a combination of its minimal, timeless aesthetic — meaning such brands and pieces are cool all year round, for all of the trend cycles — and the fact that it honestly just seems like Scandi fashion is centred around having fun and wearing what you like.

This season, a few brands stuck out to not only us — but also to fans of fashion, with search data from Lyst suggesting that they’re worth getting on your radar. Totēme appears to be one of the biggest, with searches on Lyst rising by 4781% week-on-week. Following closely behind is Filippa K, which sees searches rising by 800% month-on-month, and By Malene Birger, whose shoulder bags saw a spike of 578% just last month.

Ahead, we showcase some of the coolest brands from CPHFW this SS25 season.

Toteme was founded by Swedish blogger Elin Kling back in 2014 and specializes in elevated basics. Rooted in Swedish design, the label favors minimal aesthetics, prioritizing sleek cuts, buttery soft fabrics and well-fitting silhouettes. Known for pieces like its signature trench coat and blazers, it’s the perfect place to find high-quality pieces that will always have a space in your wardrobe.

Filippa K

Similarly, Filippa K — founded in Stockholm by Filippa Knutsson in 1993 — has been a firm favorite amongst the Scandi crowd for many years. With a focus on timeless design and high-quality tailoring, the label features slight nods to trends but in a wearable way that doesn’t instantly become relegated to the back of the wardrobe once the trend has had its time.

By Malene Birger was founded in 2003 and has since risen through the ranks to become one of Scandinavia’s most popular designers. Merging Danish minimalism with a bohemian twist, the label features a range of printed dresses, colorful clothing and statement footwear — with its sellout shoulder bags quickly becoming its must-have item.

THE GARMENT

One of the newer brands on our list, THE GARMENT, was founded in 2020 by Sophia Roe and Charlotte Eskildsen. Focusing on architectural silhouettes, the brand has become known for its distinctive tailoring, regularly showcasing at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Baum und Pferdgarten

Danish fashion house Baum und Pferdgarten was founded in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. On the more playful side of minimalism, the Scandi brand features a few timeless silhouettes alongside more vibrant prints, trend-led pieces and colorful fabrics, making it the perfect brand to shop for something that makes a little more of a statement.

Gestuz

Gestuz is a Danish brand with a little more edge than its Scandi counterparts, exuding a bit of a rock and roll energy that’s hard to find elsewhere. Still retaining a high level of quality with well-designed silhouettes, the brand looks to more experimental fabrics, prints and colorways to offer a little something extra.

ROTATE

Since it debuted in 2018, ROTATE has become known as *the* party girl brand in Denmark. Founded by Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars, the luxury label focuses on fun silhouettes, bold colors and daring designs — definitely not made for the fashionably faint-hearted. Its most recent show at CPHFW saw Pamela Anderson in attendance, and previous catwalks have seen reality royalty Lisa Rinna walking the runway. Need we say more?

Stine Goya

Eponymous label Stine Goya is probably one of the most colorful Scandi brands there is. Inspired by nature and art, the brand’s pieces often feature intricate floral prints and artistic designs, featuring vibrant hues of pink, green and orange. Utilizing silky soft fabrics and flowing silhouettes, it’s the perfect fusion of coquette, luxury and Scandi chic.
