Courrèges SS25 Made Minimalism Sexy Again

Subversive details with sharp, clean-cut lines and bold asymmetry took center stage.

Simply put, the Courrèges Spring/Summer 2025 collection was a minimalist’s dream. Thriving on subtle, subversive details with sharp, clean-cut lines and bold asymmetry, the brand gave each piece a striking edge. Creative director, Nicolas Di Felice masterfully upheld the futuristic ’60s aesthetic that the brand’s founder, André Courrèges, famously pioneered, while seamlessly blending it with his own refined take on minimalism. The result of the SS25 show was a modern fusion where the sleek, space-age spirit of the brand’s archive was reimagined with a fresh sensuality that spoke to the bold confidence of the 21st century.

WHO: Amongst the Beckhams including Nicola Peltz-Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham was musician Jaehyun and actor Hari Nef.

WHERE: Held at the Carreau Du Temple once again,  the show built on the breathing floor concept from the previous year, featured a rotating orb in the heart of the show space. It showcased moving metal beads, which creating the visual and auditory effect of waves, crafted by the Finnish artist duo Grönlund-Nisunen.

SEE: The collection was showcased in a refined palette of just three colors: black, cream and a soft nude tan. Among the standout pieces were the bralettes, which took minimalism to the extreme. They were little more than a rectangular strip of fabric, barely skimming the chest and daringly strapless, creating a bold yet understated allure. If you’re seeking to embrace a look that’s both sleek and sensual, this collection is perfect for you to balance both a minimalist elegance and seductive charm.

HEAR: As the first model stepped onto the runway, the soothing sound of waves generated by the moving metal beads created a serene atmosphere. However, this moment was soon eclipsed by a pulsating remix of Underworld’s renowned track “Born Slippy,” injecting a bass line into the show.

TOUCH: Expect a luxurious selection of creamy, soft-to-the-touch leathers that offer both comfort and elegance. Plus, shiny silks, translucent sheer fabrics and neat suiting to provide a sophisticated and contemporary finish.

TASTE: Tights over heels have made a splash in recent footwear trends but Courrèges took an innovative approach by styling pants draped over the back of the heel. The shoes themselves featured a unique design, with straps angled upward, creating the illusion of a cuff wrapping around the heel.
