Are You “Ready for Roevember?” Here’s What You Need
Here’s your Roevember checklist.
Sexual health platform and abortion care clinic, Hey Jane, launches its ”Ready for Roevember” campaign, powered by VoteAmerica.
The 2023 overturning of Roe v. Wade altered the lives of Gen Z, reminding us just how much work needs to be done. The decision impacted all vagina owners and mobilized many of us. As the New York Times reported, “ For women younger than 45 in swing states, abortion has overtaken the economy as the single most important issue to their vote.” Ironically, at the same time, national bans on abortion have been unpopular. In July of 2024, a survey found that “approximately 8 in 10 Americans” believe that “Congress should not pass a federal law banning abortion.“
Launching on Voter Registration Day, Hey Jane’s “Ready for Roevember” aims to get the girls to the polls. The website serves as a “one-stop destination for voters,” Hey Jane shared. Here, they can “register, prepare for the election and learn about key reproductive rights-related ballot issues and races. As part of this effort, Hey Jane will donate $1 to abortion ballot measure organizations for every visitor to the site.”
The campaign will run until Election Day, November 5.
To further amplify awareness, Hey Jane has titled International Safe Abortion Day, September 28, the “Ready for Roevember day of action. On this day, people will take to social media to share why they’re ready for Roevember, using the campaign’s action toolkit and promoting readyforroevember.com as a voter resource.”
