Eva Mendes Stars in Stella McCartney's "Ryder" Campaign
The face of horse girls’ new it-bag.
Stella McCartney has tapped Eva Mendes to be the first in a series of portraits celebrating the brand’s new “Ryder” handbag. The actress is just one of many friends of the brand photographed by Mary McCartney, showcasing the saddle-shaped bag in its varying colorways, configurations and sizes. Mendes serves as a reflection of the brand’s values and the bag itself: an advocate and a voice for the voiceless. Rooted in sustainability and vegan craftsmanship, she is the perfect choice to kick off this campaign.
McCartney is the original horse girl, and the “Ryder” bag was born out of that love for an animal that is killed by the millions worldwide for leather, meat and glue. Animal cruelty has always been at the heart of Stella McCartney as a brand, and this equine bag is so different. The subtle saddle shape is made from the brand’s signature soft, vegan leather alternative, arriving in suede, ostrich leather and snakeskin styles. A functional brass padlock completes the look with a metallic finish.
