Converse Celebrates the Legacy of Its Chuck Taylor Sneaker
With a celebratory campaign featuring athletes from skateboarding, basketball, dance and beyond.
Despite originating in basketball, Converse‘s classic Chuck Taylor has become a staple for any occasion. Since its debut in 1917, it’s become a go-to for individuals from every corner of the sporting world. Ballet dancers slip them on between rehearsals, weightlifters rely on them on leg days and boxers wear them for training. However, their appeal extends far beyond sports; the shoe is just as celebrated as a lifestyle essential.
Another defining feature of the sneaker is its versatility. Last year, Swarovski adorned the silhouette with crystals, while Billie Eilish reimagined it with her own unique twist and most recently, the brand released a Valentine’s Day edition of the shoe, with Alex Consani starring in the campaign. This adaptability makes it a timeless classic, loved by generations and subcultures across the board.
In honor of this legacy, Converse’s Spring/Summer 2025 campaign puts the trainers in the spotlight, featuring athletes from skateboarding, basketball, dance and beyond. Blending street style with creative expression, the photographs explore how sport and culture intersect, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved both on and off the court.
