It was a true “Stellabration” at the pre-New York Fashion Week party.

As women in sports receive more recognition, respect and representation, those ahead of the game gave women their well-deserved flowers in the field when it wasn’t yet the popular thing to do. Before the breakthrough of the WNBA or the rise in popularity of female soccer players, brands Stella McCartney and adidas were already doing their due diligence in supporting women in sports. The two first came together in 2004, at the peak of the early aughts, with a collaborative collection that outfitted Team GB during the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Nearly two decades later, the luxury label and adidas continue to champion sports through style, evidenced by the dynamic duo’s latest drop, the Rasant trainer.

With racing-inspired roots, the Stella McCartney x adidas sneaker silhouette debuted during Paris Fashion Week at the Summer 2025 runway show, stealing the scene as a shoe that merges high performance with high fashion. This week, the high-top trainers – that take detailed design cues from adidas archival Monza sneakers – touched down across the pond in New York City at the Stella McCartney x adidas launch party, celebrating amongst changemakers across sport and style. On Wednesday, February 5, The streets of SoHo were sprawling with the style-minded and the who’s who of the fashion industry as they headed to the event of the evening for some pre-New York Fashion Week fun.

The retro-inspired Rasant trainers were the stars of the show that night amongst a sea of New York City’s favorite fashion industry insiders, the internet’s favorite influencers, as well as a mix of models including Gabriette, Ella Emhoff and Alex Consani, the latter who sports the Rasant sneakers, in a rich red in the official campaign imagery. The celebratory evening event was held at Stella McCartney’s brick-and-mortar store in Soho and welcomed guests with sounds by singer-songwriter and DJ Zuri Marley, granddaughter of reggae legend Bob Marley, as well as small burger bites and custom cocktails.

Along with the red colorway, the revamped Rasant appeared in its white colorway throughout the store alongside Stella McCartney’s ready-to-wear range and array of accessories. The streamlined silhouette, adorned with shoelace fringe at the heel, was the shoe of choice for attendees, including Industry actress Myha’la and social media stars Tinx and Olivia Joan, who showcased how versatile the sneaker was with their different outfit combos. In between cocktails and lively conversations, guests gathered around a vintage arcade racing game, competing with fellow attendees throughout the night.
