Rare Beauty's Latest Campaign Is a Celebration of Latine Heritage Month

The brand tapped photographer Thalía Gochez to capture Latine families.

Rare Beauty is honoring Latine Heritage Month with a brand new initiative. “The roots of your love” photo series, led by visual artist and photographer Thalía Gochez, centers Latine families in Los Angeles and the ways they show love to each other. For the campaign, Gochez captured three duos from the Rare Beauty community in order to spotlight the city’s rich Latine culture and tradition.

The brand called upon Dominican siblings Perla Figuereo and Jeffrey Figuereo who have a shared passion for photography, Daniela Legarda and her mom who bond over their love for Colombian food and Fidel Torres and Mayra Sigala Torres who run their family’s Mexican taqueria together. Through the campaign, Rare Beauty aims to empower its community by documenting Latine heritage and its close familial ties.

In addition to the photo series, the brand is partnering with Las Fotos Project to provide mentorship to Los Angeles photographers for the second year in a row. The initiative provides photographers with access to commercial and brand shoots, in hopes of amplifying their work.
