You Can Wear Haiti's 2026 Winter Olympics Kit Now, Too
With Stella Jean dropping the uncensored version of the viral team design.
Stella Jean has announced it will be releasing a modified version of Team Haiti’s 2026 Winter Olympics kit, unedited and made to turn heads this Spring. After the Haitian-Italian designer’s stunning uniforms for her country of origin went viral, the world hasn’t been able to get enough of the colorful, unique and highly-censored ensemble.
The original designs feature a popular painting by renowned Haitian artist Edouard Duval-Carrié, depicting revolutionary Toussaint Louverture on horseback. A leading figure in the Haitian Revolution, the image is inherently political, celebrating the birth of Haiti as the first independent Black republic. However, the International Olympic Committee does not allow political statements or symbolism on kits, so the approved design features an empty saddle in the middle of a tropical landscape.
Now dropping the uncensored version adapted for everyday wear, Stella Jean’s Olympic kit is ready to win gold in your wardrobe. A padded midi skirt fronts the brand’s SS26 collection, complete with Toussaint Louverture atop his saddle once again. Using dress as a political statement isn’t a new concept, but this celebration of Haitian history is how to do it right.
The new collection will be available for pre-sale starting February 18 on the Stella Jean website.
