Casablanca’s Del Mar Skate Sneaker is Back for FW26

Inspired by retro California skate culture.

If you’ve been dreaming of the perfect blend of Parisian style and retro, Southern California cool, Casablanca has heard your prayers. The brand’s rapidly rising footwear staple, the Del Mar sneaker, is officially returning for FW26, and we are completely obsessed.

First debuting for the SS25 season, the sneaker pays homage to 1970s and ’80s skateboarding culture, borrowing its name from California’s iconic Del Mar Skate Ranch. Brand Art Director Steve Grimes leaned into that nostalgic skate culture, serving up slightly exaggerated, puffed up proportions, chunky laces and canvas paneled uppers.

Our favorite design detail sits on the tongue: a clever logo shaped like the iconic kidney-shaped Californian swimming pools that birthed the state’s instantly-recognizable skate culture.

While the shoe originally dropped in only two colorways, the FW26 section is expanding the silhouette into new, vibrant palettes. Alongside core Casablanca tones like red, navy and classic black, the star of the show is a stunning blue suede featuring a rich, crocodile debossed texture.

The new Del Mar Sneaker is available to purchase now on the Casablanca website and select retailers.

In other news, Basketcase and New Balance unveiled a new soccer-inspired Gator Run sneaker.
