Needles and Albino & Preto's New Collaboration Makes Jiu Jitsu Chic
With an authentic campaign rooted in martial arts.
Just when you thought streetwear couldn’t get any more inventive, Japanese cult label Needles is linking up with martial arts powerhouse Albino & Preto for a capsule that bridges the worlds of high fashion and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu culture.
At the heart of the collaboration is the butterfly, a signature motif in Needles’ decades-long design archive. Far from just pretty decoration, the butterfly represents beautiful transformation and adaptability. It seamlessly doubles as a nod to BJJ’s famous butterfly guard position, highlighting the fluidity and resilience shared by both Japanese craftsmanship and martial arts philosophy.
Blending vintage sportswear nostalgia with heavy-duty athletic construction, the collection sits perfectly between high-end training wear and premium streetwear. Fronted by real Jiu Jitsu practitioners, the campaign keeps things lively, completely authentic and deeply rooted in community.
The Needles x Albino & Preto collection will be available to purchase starting June 11 on the Albino & Preto website and app, as well as in-store at Nepenthes Los Angeles and New York.
In other news, Supreme and La Martina dropped a new collaboration.
