Selena Gomez Unveils PUMA's New DEFY Training Sneaker

Perfect for all kinds of workouts.

Following the announcement of her debut, self-designed sneaker for PUMA, Selena Gomez is back, fronting the campaign for the brand’s newest silhouette – the DEFY.

This new training shoe features a crisp, white knitted upper that’s comfortable, breathable and supportive and also fits perfectly to your foot. PUMA‘s signature Formstripe is outlined on the lateral side in a mint green colorway, contrasting against the minimal upper. Black laces complete the look as does the pull tab upon the tongue and branded details continue in that turquoise hue upon the heel. Above the midsole are jagged hits of black, which add an edge to the practical sneaker and a chunky, textured monochrome midsole rounds out the look, with the PROFOAM sole providing additional cushioning and comfort.

Selena Gomez, a PUMA Global Ambassador and the muse for the DEFY sneaker spoke out on her involvement with the project, stating:

“To DEFY is to be brave. It’s about pushing the envelope and not obeying any ‘expectations’ placed on you by society.  PUMA has captured this feeling perfectly with their new DEFY training shoe. I remind myself daily the importance of defying the outside noise and being true to myself.”

Take a look at the new sneaker above – it’s set to release on May 31 at select PUMA retailers worldwide. Don’t forget to check out PUMA’s bulky Thunder Electric sneaker, too.
