Having already teased the new song on Twitter back in May, Ariana Grande finally releases the music video for her new track “the light is coming” featuring Nicki Minaj. Bringing to mind major Blair Witch vibes, the music video starts off with the Queen rapper’s verse, performed against the backdrop of a dark, spine-chilling forest setting. Ariana soon makes her appearance (wearing Reebok sneakers, of course), appearing amongst the trees with a glowing white orb.
As she continues her performance, the forest is soon lit up by strobing red lights. Casting a rouge luminescence across the wooded landscape, the singer delivers the chorus as a mysterious silhouette. As she makes her way back to the dark forest, a number of Ariana apparitions materialize, further underscoring the trippy experience.
