Rick Owens Teases Another Birkenstock Collaboration
As a part of the SS19 collection.
Fresh off his collaboration with Birkenstock, Rick Owens has just teased another shoe with the German footwear brand. The designer just debuted his Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, and not only did he showcase eye-catching apparel and distressed garments, but also new footwear. Having previously dropped nine sandals alongside the Birkenstock, all taking the brand’s iconic designs and putting a streetwear ready, Rick Owens twist on them, there’s no doubt that we can expect innovative versions of the footwear this season.
Throughout the show, models sported elevated versions of the classic Arizona sandals, as well as a sneaker-sandal hybrid sporting the recognizable Birkenstock sole. After the show, Owens posted a close-up of the futuristic sneaker silhouette, coming with velcro straps across the top and a large, over-sized tongue.
