From Louis Vuitton and Gucci, to Loewe and CELINE.
It’s that time of the year again with all kinds of brands ranging from KFC to BAPE coming out with special mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival. To join in on the celebration for one of the biggest holidays in East Asia, luxury houses like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Maison Margiela, Hermès and Loewe have also revealed their take on the Chinese snack with some over-the-top packaging.
From LV, we see a tall box dressed in the house’s signature orange hue housing blue paper cut out art along with four chocolate mooncakes. Meanwhile, Gucci delivers six mooncakes sporting the “Bee” motif, each packed in tin cases placed inside a large red box branded with the iconic logo. As for Hermès, two luxurious rainbow sticks are placed inside a yellow container in replacement of mooncakes, while Fendi‘s packaging is crafted in the shape of a lantern with an acrylic board lit with LED strips. CELINE and Maison Margiela both deliver their mooncakes in minimalist white boxes, sporting each house’s signature branding on the surface of the desserts. Burberry‘s boxes are dressed in Riccardo Tisci‘s new monogram print, while Saint Laurent offers its mooncakes in a chic black box.
