Off-White™'s Meteor Bag Is This Season's Best Accessory

Hot off the Spring/Summer 2020 runway.

Following the anticipated Off-White™ Spring/Summer 2020 show that took place earlier this week at Paris Fashion Week, the Virgil Abloh-led label is dropping the first piece from its women’s ready-to-wear collection. Dubbed “the star accessory of the season,” the Meteor Bag is about to become one of the most sought after pieces on the market.

Taking inspiration from the Jitney bag that has been a part of Off-White™‘s signature silhouettes since Pre-Fall 2019, the new Meteor Bag takes on the same shape, but this time circles have been cut out from the piece. The bag appears as if it has been struck by a meteor shower (the theme of this season’s collection), and breaks the unconventional rules of fashion and style. Because of the holes, the bag is practically un-useable,  and Off-White™ says that the “functionality of the purse is thereby rendered un-functional, full of holes and challenging the concept of a bag itself, one of the most common objects in our everyday live.”

To commemorate the launch of the eye-catching bag, Off-White™ has tapped four iconic fashion muses for its campaign, Ana Gimeno, Carla Sozzani, Patricia Urquiola and Karla Otto, “women who are each individually known for their timeless style, grace, and elegance.”

Available hot off the runway, the Meteor bag will be available starting Sunday September 29, and will be available in white, red and black colorways. The piece will be priced at $1,665 USD. Get a closer look in the gallery above, and catch the campaign below.
