Cecilie Bahnsen Unveils Darkly Romantic Pre-Fall 2020 Collection
Rendered in a range of sheer fabrics.
Copenhagen-based designer Cecilie Bahnsen has revealed the lookbook for her Pre-Fall 2020 collection, a tightly edited range of ethereal yet structured dresses, separates and outerwear. An LVMH Prize finalist, Bahnsen has gained much-deserved recognition for her ability to meld a stark Scandinavian design aesthetic with feminine fabrics and detailing.
Puff-sleeve dresses rendered in sheer fabric feature empire waists that fan out into floaty, mid-length skirts. A blazer and matching knee-length shorts are similarly made of light, opaque fabric overlaid with graphic black lace, adding three-dimensional texture. A quilted black overcoat is stitched with floral detailing while two gowns, one in white and the other in pink, feature delicate tie closures across an open back.
