Virgil Abloh's Custom Off-White™️ 2.8 Jitney Is Inspired by the Louvre Pyramid
Featuring one-of-a-kind artisanal applications of silver sequins.
In collaboration with Christie’s auction house, Virgil Abloh has unveiled a custom Off-White™️ 2.8 Jitney handbag in support of the upcoming “Bid for the Louvre” online auction. According to a press release, all proceeds will be donated to projects in support of the Musée du Louvre and The Louvre Studio, “a new space dedicated to artistic and cultural education” set to open next fall.
For his latest iteration of one of the label’s most iconic silhouettes, Abloh has reimagined the piece to capture the essence of Paris and the incredible design structure of the Louvre Pyramid. Crafted from fine, silver Italian calfskin leather, the bag features custom artisanal applications of silver rectangular sequins throughout. Those who participate in this auction will not only have the chance to take this special collector’s item home but will also be able to attend one Off-White™️’s runway shows in 2021.
Off-White™️ is joined by select luxury fashion houses, designers and contemporary artists contributing to this cause. The “Bid for the Louvre” auction will take place via Christie’s website from December 1 to 15.
