'Black Mirror' Creators Announce Netflix Comedy Special, 'Death to 2020'
Featuring Joe Keery, Samuel L. Jackson and more.
The creators of Black Mirror, Annabel Jones and Charlie Booker, are trying their hand at comedy with a new Netflix special, Death to 2020. Described as a “comedy event that you’ll never forget,” the documentary-style release will see a star-studded cast including Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Joe Keery and Leslie Jones recount a year so horrifying that many have compared it to a season of the dystopian science fiction show.
A brief teaser from Netflix specifies that the special is still in the works. “The creators of Black Mirror couldn’t make this year up,” the video reads. “But they do have something to add: A Netflix Original comedy event…that you’ll never forget, from the year you really don’t want to remember,” it continues. Additional cast members include Lisa Kudrow of The Comeback, Kumail Nanjiani of The Big Sick and Black Mirror alum Cristin Milioti.
Netflix hasn’t specified a release date for Death to 2020, though the special is supposedly “coming soon.” Stay tuned as more details are announced and watch the teaser above.
