KAWS' New Face Down Companion Figure Is a Big 2020 Mood
The iconic character turns 20 this year.
KAWS debuted his Companion figure back in 1999 and since then, the character has become one of the artist’s most iconic creations to date. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Brooklyn-based creative has given the Companion a new makeover.
Similar to last year’s KAWS:HOLIDAY sculpture, the Companion 2020 design is seen laying down. However, this new iteration arrives face down appearing exhausted, which is the complete opposite of its relaxed predecessor. Available in three different colorways, the figure comes with its signature flattened face, chest and legs, allowing you to place it on any even surface in your home. In addition, KAWS announced via his Instagram account that the new designs will be accompanied by a small restock of his Holiday Space and BFF figures.
The COMPANION 2020 collection reportedly ranges from $200 to $220 USD. All figures will be available to shop via KAWS’ web store on December 17 at 12 p.m. EST.
