'KAWS:HOLIDAY' Has Officially Landed at its Fourth Stop, Mount Fuji
Accompanied with a special camping experience.
Following his giant installation pieces shown in Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong, KAWS has brought the KAWS:HOLIDAY exhibition to its fourth stop at Mount Fuji, Japan in collaboration with AllRightsReserved, as announced last month. Spanning a whopping 40 meters, the artist’s iconic Companion character is seen laid on the ground, gazing at Mount Fuji.
Starting today visitors will be able to take a peep at the massive sculpture. Unlike the previous locations, this time Companion will be camping out on the plateau of Fumotoppara Camping Ground with actual campers. As KAWS:HOLIDAY was originally created to gift a relaxing and pleasurable experience for people around the world, it falls just in line with this beautiful Japanese scenery. “We are happy to bring KAWS:HOLIDAY to Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji for this first-time camping experience, connecting people in pristine nature,” organizer and curator of AllRightsReserved, SK Lam stated in a press release.
To celebrate the opening of this exhibition, 2,000 campers will join Companion for an exclusive overnight experience sponsored by Herschel Supply. An inauguration ceremony of a 5-minute drone performance by the SKYMAGIC team is also slated to reveal.
KAWS:HOLIDAY will be on display from today through July 24. Make sure to stop by if you will be passing through Japan in the coming week.
