With the year coming to an end, Models.com has announced its 2020 Industry Awards, highlighting some of the most exciting faces in the fashion industry. In addition to Paloma Elsesser and Sora Choi, who are both crowned Model of the Year, the list features other standout names like Naomi Campbell, who is honored with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.
Elsesser, who recently graced the cover of American Vogue, took the Industry’s Vote for her work in Savage X Fenty’s Fall/Winter 2020 show, as well as Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection. Meanwhile, Choi was selected by readers for starring in multiple campaigns for brands such as Burberry, Dior and Alexander McQueen. Runners-up for the category were Adut Akech and Bella Hadid.
The list also celebrates breakthrough talents that have “had a substantial presence on the modeling scene.” Jill Kortleve and Mika Schneider won the Breakout Star title, followed by Akon Changkou and Maty Fall as runners-up. Elsewhere, the Social Mover category spotlights those who have “used their heightened platform to change the world for the better,” honoring Adesuwa Aighewi and Emily Ratajkowski. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Models.com additionally introduced a new Lifetime Achievement Award, given to none other than Naomi Campbell.
