Virgil Abloh Experiments With Logos for Louis Vuitton Men's Pre-Fall 2021 Collection
Reimagining the LV monogram on the house’s iconic handbags.
Following up on the technical 2054 range and timeless Pre-Spring 2021 collection, Virgil Abloh has debuted the Pre-Fall 2021 line for Louis Vuitton Men’s. This time around, the designer experiments with the LV monogram on a series of handbags and garments.
The collection opens with minimal renditions of the Speedy bag dressed in a light gray hue, along with a tailored suit and a blown-up form of the Damier check on matching shirts and trousers. Playful logos peep through timeless designs, including “LOUIS VUITTON” lettering on the sleeve of a double-breasted coat. The lineup sees a mix between dressy and casual styles, with vibrant sneakers mixed and matched with straight-legged trousers, jeans and more.
Standing out from the lookbook is the house’s Speedy and Trunk bags that are emblazoned with different versions of the LV monogram. The former is accentuated with repeated yellow rubber material spelling out “LV” at the base of the purse, while the Trunk Messenger bag is highlighted with oversized Damier prints. Rounding out the collection are jackets and suits featuring embossed text motifs that read, “DON’T LET YOUR DAY DEFINE YOU.”
