Silvia Venturini Fendi Showcases Her Final SS21 Collection for Fendi Womenswear
Handing over the baton to Kim Jones, who will be showing his debut range in February.
Prior to Fendi‘s socially distanced Spring/Summer 2021 runway, social media feeds were dominated by photo-ready packs of FF-branded Rummo pasta, which served as an invitation to the show. Most spectators stayed home to witness Silvia Venturini Fendi‘s final womenswear collection that took place physically in Milan with a livestream.
Sparking buzz over the past few weeks ever since Kim Jones was unexpectedly announced as the house’s new artistic director, Fendi showcased an extensive lineup influenced by the late Karl Lagerfeld. Starting off with nature-inspired prints splashed onto flowing shirts and trousers, the SS21 collection was all about relaxed looks. Neutral tones of brown, beige and gray served as the main color palette in the first half of the runway, as Fendi eased into more vibrant shades highlighting the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
Outfits were paired with bold yellow socks and a set of pink gloves, boots and a bag, while more colors were seen on the Baguette and Peekaboo, as well as garments like bodysuits, dresses and matching sets of shirts and pants. More accessories highlighted the collection, including the Italian label’s latest collaboration with Chaos. The runway boasted a star-studded closing lineup, with Paloma Elesser, Ashley Graham and Karen Elson stepping out patterned pieces, lace items and more.
