Raf Simons x Dr. Martens Reimagine the Iconic 1460 Boot
Featuring rings inspired by the Punk club scene in the late ’70s.
This year marks Dr. Martens‘ 60th anniversary and to commemorate its success, the footwear brand is partnering up with 12 world-renowned labels and designers. Following the release of its latest team-up with BAPE, Dr. Martens has unveiled this month’s 1460 Remastered project in collaboration with Raf Simons.
Reworking its iconic 1460 boot, the silhouette features a smooth leather upper with a series of anarchistic punk-style nickel rings inspired by the customization trend during the New Romantic and Punk club scene in the late ’70s. The rings are also a nod to mid-century design furniture and Raf Simons’ background in detail-driven furniture design. Rounding out the design of the shoe is the embossed co-branding logo which can be found on the boot’s ankle cuff in a silver hue.
The Raf Simons x Dr. Martens 1460 Remastered Boot is set to release on February 22 via Dr. Martens’ website as well as at stockists including Dover Street Market. In case you missed it, don’t forget to check out the brand’s newest Jadon boot iteration.
