Disney’s Live-Action Remake of 'Aladdin' Is Getting a Sequel
Producers are hoping to bring back Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud and Will Smith.
Disney premiered a live-action reboot of the classic animated film Aladdin last year and it was a box office hit raking in $1 billion USD in sales worldwide. Following its success, the Mickey Mouse company has just announced that the movie will be getting a sequel.
According to Variety, the movie is still in its early stages of production, but sources have reported that producers have finally figured out which direction to take the film. As of now, it is unknown whether Guy Ritchie will return to direct the movie and producers are hoping to bring back the original cast including Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud and Will Smith. However, the offers won’t be extended to the stars until a script has been finalized. Sources say that the film will be a theatrical release and not a Disney+ title.
Stay tuned while we wait for more details to surface. In the meantime, don’t forget to watch the final trailer of Mulan before it hits theaters on March 27.
