MM6 Maison Margiela to Debut Collaboration With The North Face on Its FW20 Runway

As we transition from New York to London for the next round of Fashion Weeks this Fall/Winter 2020 season, The North Face has announced its upcoming collaboration with MM6 Maison Margiela. The outerwear specialist will be incorporating its signature design elements to various silhouettes of MM6’s upcoming collection.

Marrying The North Face’s technical and functional Expedition System with John Galliano‘s original designs, key garments will feature circular patterns to mimic Margiela‘s iconic circles and numbers identifying each of the house’s lines on its logo. The outdoor label’s iconic black shoulder panel will be reimagined in a bright palette of cobalt, violet, green, yellow and orange, with performance fabrics completing ultimate functionality to the avant-garde silhouettes.

Some of the key items to receive the Margiela treatment are the hooded Himalayan Coat, cape-style Mountain Kaban and Nuptse puffer jacket. Created with recycled down insulation and fleece, the pieces include versatile features such as being lengthened into a coat dress, as well as a triple-zipper system that allows fully adjustable sleeves and armholes. In addition to garments, the capsule also consists of accessories like a padded Nuptse scarf sporting dual pockets and a loop fastening system and alpine mittens that are split at the thumb for the iconic Tabi effect. Additional items include a circle backpack, clutch and duffel bag.

Slated to debut on February 16, the day of MM6 Maison Margiela’s runway show at LFW, the collaborative capsule will arrive in select retailers, MM6 and The North Face flagship locations and online in September 2020.
