Google Maps' Latest Update Shows Restaurants Open for Takeout and Delivery

Support your local businesses.

Responding to myriad restaurant closures amid the coronavirus pandemic, Google Maps has introduced a new feature highlighting eateries still open for takeout and delivery. After tapping the screen once, users can pull up a list of operating restaurants. Available on both Android and iOS, the feature even allows businesses to integrate their ordering system directly into the Google Maps app, facilitating an easier user experience.

Google Maps’ new update, which makes supporting local businesses simpler, is available in the U.S., Canada and France. Other regions may be added shortly.

In related news, Uber has pledged 10 million free rides and meal deliveries to healthcare workers and seniors.
